So I spent a couple hours putting together a fort for the boys. No real building involved I used bamboo and burlap. In a corner of our yard there are a group of trees that never got planted, they were set there in their pots and eventually grew out of the pots into the ground next to the hedges and formed a u shape of trees with space between them and the hedges. So used the hedges as the back wall and they took baboo poles and attached burlap to make the front "wall" of the fort and a door. Nothing really elaborate but they love it(and it did't cost much). I think sometimes kids like the more simple forts. My friends husband spent a day at thier ranch building the kids a cool fort about two feet off the ground with a platform and bridge it was really cool and when he was done his son said "no thanks dad I just wanted a tee-pee. It was pretty funny so now they have this nice fort that they hardley ever play on. They boys loved their fort and had their afternoon snack on their "porch" it has a nice view of the garden.
